Last week Reed Hoffman and I spent a few days with a group of Trekkers exploring the Columbia River Gorge and Crater Lake National Park during our Mentor Trek to Oregon. We had fabulous opportunities to capture stunning natural landscapes as well as the serene evening colors of the city of Portland, waterfalls and numerous wonders of the natural world.

Super Mentor Reed Hoffman takes a high angle to shoot down on to magnificient Crater Lake during our recent Mentor Trek to Oregon.
Although the weather threatened to hamper our fun, we waited it out, rising to a glorious, wintery looking morning during our stay at Crater Lake National Park. Some people may think we were crazy, but to see the trees covered in snow turned what could have been a difficult experience into one of the most beautiful photo opportunities I’ve experienced during any of my many treks with the Mentor Series. These two photos highlight some of the fun and learning we all had as we traveled the state talking about photography and enjoying the company of like minded individuals. Join us on one of our next treks which for me will be the glorious horse country of Kentucky this fall.
