Reuters news agency recently published the story on the tundra fires that have been burning parts of the subarctic. I was in Churchill last month and the photos we sent out caught their attention. PBI’s senior scientist Dr. Steven Amstrup was interviewed by the news agency and discussed the issues that fires can cause for polar bears in the Churchill, Manitoba region. Interesting article, Dan. Thanks for posting. Imagery is stunning – never expected to see forest fires in Churchill area. Dr. Amstrup’s comments about lack of adaptability to fires in this area hits home.
Thanks Dave, looking forward to shooting with you and the Mrs’s this week.
