Daniel has been documenting wildlife throughout his photographic career, and he has contributed many of these photographs and worked in conjunction with several authors on a variety of wildlife books. Black bears, polar bears and whitetail deer are just a few of the animals included in these compelling informational books.

Daniel has also contributed his wildlife photographs to several books for young readers, including the award-winning children's book Lupe, a fact-filled fictional story about a wolf pup's first year in Yellowstone National Park.

His next children's book, Portia Polar Bear's Birthday Wish, written by author Margie K. Carroll, tells the story of of Portia, a young polar bear who discovers that being different is not as bad as it seems.
