March and April of 2011 saw our first Natural Exposures Invitational Photo Tours Adventure to beautiful Costa Rica. When Tanya first started putting this trip together we knew it would be popular. In the end we took three separate groups and we all had a fabulous time. The photo opportunities were superb, the people incredibly friendly and inviting, the food fantastic and our guests couldn't have been more fun to travel with. The photos on these pages are a small collection of some of my favorites although I still have a lot of editing to do. I shot nearly 10,500 images including stills and video. We hope you enjoy the images from Costa Rica and if you're interested in more details you can read all about our Costa Rica Photo Tour on our Corkboard/Blog. We're already accepting inquires for next years Costa Rica Photo Tour. Take a look and let us know if you're interested in joining us in 2012.

Dan and Tanya just returned from their fifth season in Africa. Each January they lead a group of photo enthusiasts to the spectacular wilds of Kenya to document the dazzling variety of wildlife, the Serengeti's stunning scenery, a bit of Kenya’s colorful culture and to give personal one on one instruction to the small group of guests they travel with. Each years photographic adventure is different but always includes Africa’s “Big Five”. This year they saw hundreds of elephants, several leopards, dozens of lions, herds of cape buffalo and the increasingly rare Black Rhino. It was a fabulous adventure! You can see some of Daniel’s favorite images by following the link below. If you have an interest in joining them for next years 2012 Kenya Photography Tour sign up soon. There are only a few places left.

Last month Dan joined the PopPhoto team to be a Mentor on the Bryce and Zion National Park photography workshop. Bryce and Zion are amazing parks with the landscapes like nothing else found in the world. There were four instructors total with about forty students. Our headquarters was just outside the park at the Zion Mountain Resort where we had fantastics meals and luxurious authentic log cabins. Michelle, Erica and Vanessa did a spectacular job of organizing this shoot. Getting all the necessary permits for the parks is no easy task yet it all went like clock work. You can se some of the image from the shoot by visiting the PopPhoto Mentors web site. Give them a call and sign up for the upcoming Grand Tetons workshop that Dan will be a part of.

Yellowstone is a perennial winter wonderland full of amazing animals and spectacular scenery. For the second year in a row, Tanya and I have taken a small group of people to the land of enchanted beauty to learn the art of photography and the science of digital capture. Our first day we shot in temperatures of -12 degrees. That sounds cold and I can assure you it is, but it creates tremendous photographic opportunities. Steam billowing from the waters of the Firehole river with swans moving through shafts of light was just one of many highlights of this frigid, wintery day. The rest of the week we enjoyed temperatures in the mid teens and warmer. After our guests had left I spent an additional week in the north end of the park exploring the possibilities for our next years adventure. I’ve included a few images in the following gallery from my exploratory trip as well. All in all we had a tremendous time.
